  • Available Bolt-On A-Frame Trailer Couplers
  • Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5296H-B is made for weld-on installation. We do have A-frame couplers that bolt on, like # BD44150WH301 and others shown on the linked page, but none of these is a sleeve lock type. Drilling the coupler to allow bolt-on installation could result in a reduced capacity. The trouble is that there is no way to know exactly what effect drilling has without actually testing the coupler. The part has never been tested in this way and so you would be in...

  • Installation of Bulldog Heavy-Duty Cast Head A-Frame 2-5/16-Inch Coupler # BD44150WH301
  • Bulldog Heavy-Duty Cast Head A-Frame 2-5/16-Inch Coupler # BD44150WH301 is intended for standard 50-degree a-frame trailer frames. This unit is a bolt-on item and its rated 15,000-lb capacity is based on it being installed using all mounting holes to evenly distribute forces. If you were to use only 8 of the 10 mounting holes there would be some undetermined loss of capacity. It is not possible to exactly predict this drop in weight capacity. I recommend drilling the additional holes, or...

  • Will the Jack Mounting Hole of the Fulton Coupler # F44314R0303 Match Trailer Mounting Hole
  • Most likely when you have the Fulton A-Frame Coupler # F44314R0303 welded to your trailer you will be able to have it installed so that the lower hole for your A-frame jack will line up with the hole of the coupler as most couplers have the jack mounting hole in as universal of a location as possible. Worst case scenario you would have to have the lower hole moved to match the upper hole of the coupler, but this would be an unlikely situation.

  • Can the Claw Tension Be Adjusted on the Demco 50-Degree A-Frame Trailer Coupler

  • Can the Demco 32-Degree A-Frame Trailer Coupler Be Bolted On
  • The Demco 32-Degree A-Frame Trailer Coupler part # DM15633-81 must be welded per the manufacturer. I'm sure you could drill holes and attach the coupler that way but we can't recommend this. The weight capacity would be severely compromised if not welded. The location of the holes and size are all crucial factors that require extensive testing for bolt-on applications which we cannot provide for the above.
